Obituary for John Joseph Forsthoefel

John Joseph  Forsthoefel
John Joseph Forsthoefel, age 54 of Anderson Twp., passed away peacefully on January 21, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with Glioblastoma surrounded by his loving family and friends.

John was born in Dayton, Ohio, to Paul and Anna Mae "Pat" Forsthoefel. He was the loving husband of Julie Forsthoefel and devoted father of Annie (Sean) Corcoran, Adam (Caitlin), Emily, and Matt Forsthoefel. John was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters including Barb Pennucci, David and Arlene Forsthoefel, Marilyn and Robert Portune, Bill and Marge Forsthoefel, Tom and Joan Forsthoefel, Susan and John Mullan, Anne and Greg Callahan, Mark and Nancy Forsthoefel, John is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Mary Jo and Tom Ebner, his brother-in-law, Dave and Cindy Ebner, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. He will be joined in heaven with his parents and beloved brother, Mark.

John graduated from the University of Dayton with both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in electrical engineering. He was a highly respected lead engineer at L3 Communications in Mason, Ohio for over 30 years, where many looked up to him for guidance.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, where John and his family were active parishioners on Saturday, January 28th at 11:00 am. Visitation will also occur at IHM on Friday, January 27th from 3:30 to 7:30 pm. The family would like to invite everyone to a luncheon in Heritage Hall immediately following the Mass to continue in the celebration of John's life. A private family interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be directed to Immaculate Heart of Mary School's Tuition Assistance Fund, 7800 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH. 45255, where Julie presently teaches kindergarten.
