Obituary for George A. "Gus" Bell Sr.

Bell Sr., George Alan "Gus" a longtime Anderson Township resident passed peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2017 after a recent hospitalization at the age of 77 years. Born in Slavens, KY on Nov. 17, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Bell and Mary Helen Bell (Burnett) along with his second son, Jon Anthony Bell. Gus was a loving and devoted husband to Sallie Ruth Bell (nee Lillich) for 58 years, a caring and supportive father to his children George Alan Bell, Jr., Jon Anthony Bell (deceased), James Otis Bell and his only daughter, Yvonne Lynn Gantenberg (nee Bell) along with a loving grandpa to his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Bell, Nina Marie Bell, Derek James Bell, Samantha Nicole Gantenberg, and Jacob Brendon Gantenberg. Funeral Service at T P WHITE & SONS Funeral Home on Tues. July 18, at 2 PM. Family and friends may visit on Tues. from 12:30 to 2 PM. Interment in Tate Twp. Cemetery, Bethel, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Anderson High School Boosters "Jon Bell Memorial Scholarship fund. Checks may be sent to the attention of Chris Newton-Athletic Director at Anderson High School. Gus served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
