Obituary for Robert G. Willard

Robert G. Willard
Willard, Robert G. "Bob", age 86 of Anderson Twp., died October 24, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Doris L. Willard (nee Meyer), devoted father of Cynthia A. Lawson, Elizabeth K. Willard, and Katherine L. Smucker (David), loving grandfather of Gregory M. Cates, Robert D. Smucker, and Jacob W. Smucker, caring great-grandfather of Jada M. Cates.

Bob, or as many may know him as Jess, nicknamed in college since there were so many Roberts was a civil engineer and graduated from the University of Cincinnati, worked on many various projects around the city. One, many of us drive on frequently is the stretch of 275 between Coney And Five Mile Rd. Jess worked for the City of Cincinnati Park Department from the mid 70s to the early 90s where he worked on restoring the city parks; Ault Park being one of his biggest projects. Another passion was the Willard Farm in Demosville, KY that was in our family for over 100 years and how he raised grass fed black angus cattle. And finally, his true passion was his love of baseball with his grandsons. Jess was fortunate to be able to travel and see the US, most of the world and MANY baseball games!

Jess was a devoted husband, wonderful father and a terrific grandfather! His memories, that he has left with all of us will live strong in our hearts and he will be missed everyday. Memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 1175 Birney Ln., Cincinnati, OH. 45230 on Saturday, November 4th at 11 am. If desired, memorials may be directed to the church.
