Obituary for George C. Kapsal

Kapsal, Sr., George Christopher, age 96 years, of Cincinnati, OH departed this life on November 17, 2017 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. George was born July 6, 1921 in Youngstown, OH, the son of Christ P. and Bertha (Krieg) Kapsal. He was a graduate of Mahoning High School and Youngstown State University. During WWII he was a Tech Sergeant in the 8th Armored Division stationed in Europe from 1942 to 1946. He enjoyed a long career of 30 years as a professional trumpet player for many big bands and orchestras. He retired from ITT Financial Corporation and the Internal Revenue Service. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cincinnati, OH. Preceded in death by his wife, Marie M. (Holub) Kapsal, son, George C. Kapsal, Jr., his parents, his brother Leonidas Kapsal and sister Anastasia (William) Hogg. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie M. Clinger, son, Christopher P. (Diana Reber) Kapsal; grandchildren, Jon S. (Bonnie) Clinger, Robin T. (Anthony) Macaione, Sean C. Kapsal, Nathan Kapsal and Caleb Kapsal; great-grandchildren, Leanne and Ashley Clinger, Ava Dedrickson, Samantha and Chloe Kapsal; sister-in law Bessie Kapsal; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Anderson Twp., on Friday, November 24 at 10:00 am. Friends may visit at the church on Friday from 9 am to 10 am.
