Dorsey, Anne Grieme died just days prior to her 80th birthday on March 25, 2014. Loving wife of Robert W. Dorsey for 57 years. Mother to Andrew R. (Thia Walser), Louisville, CO., Peter N. (Heidi Chen), Avon, OH., J.L. Kurkpatrick (Marion Girard), Durham, NH. Grandmother of six, dear sister of Susan Grieme Fitzgerald. Born in Cincinnati to the late Frank and Corinne Grieme on March 29, 1934. Outstanding parent guided sons to be National Merit Scholars. Anne graduated from St. Ursula Academy, then earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Cincinnati, where she was a member of Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. Professor Emerita and program coordinator at U.C., extensive writing and consulting locally and nationally, including co-authoring with Dorothy June Sciarra a definitive book on child care centers, now in the eighth edition. Long time resident of Anderson Twp., Anne as a girl lived in the house which is now the Heritage Center. She was active in Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Jerome parishes. Enquirer Woman of the Year in 1991 for promoting early childhood education and urging many people into professional roles. Anne was a tireless advocate for children and continued to test pre-schoolers for baseline data for learning progress. Mass of Christian Burial at Guardian Angels Church, 6531 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington (parking available off Brachman) at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 31. Friends may visit at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington on Sunday, March 30 from 4-6 PM. Memorials may be made to the Catholic Inner-City Schools Education Fund C/O Archdiocese, 100 E. 8th St., Cincinnati, OH 45202.
