Barbara Ann Fletcher (Hardin), 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love in her final days, just as she had surrounded others with warmth, laughter, and kindness throughout her life.
Born in 1958 in Peoria, IL, Barb was raised in Milwaukee and Jackson, MI, before making her way to Atlanta, GA, and ultimately settling in Cincinnati, OH. She attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, and later earned her BA in Accounting from Wilmington College in Wilmington, OH.
Barb spent two decades at Tribar Orthopedics Inc., a company founded by her father, Don Hardin, where she did everything from payroll and HR to trade shows and eventually served as president. She also worked at the Cincinnati Law Library, The Heritage, RealPage, and, most recently, VITAS Healthcare, where she dedicated nine years of service.
A strong-willed and sassy woman, Barb was known for her quick wit, honesty, and boundless energy. She took up space in the best way. She never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcome with her kind heart and outgoing nature.
She adored her family, especially her daughter, Nancy Fletcher Dulle (Will Dulle), and her grandson, Kellan Dulle, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her father, Don Hardin; her brother, Don "Tripp" Hardin, III.; her nephew, Don "Kipp" Hardin IV; her beloved aunts, Lisa (Ken) Gutowski and Jan (Don) Labat. Barb was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Hardin, and aunt Cindy Hardin.
Her love extended to her cherished pets: her cats, Spaz and Gracie, and her dog, Taz. She found happiness in tackling home improvement projects and exploring her culinary palate. She made lasting memories with family and friends over shared meals, laughter, and adventures.
Barb's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her and the stories and experiences that made her life so remarkable. A service to honor Barb's life will be held on Saturday, February 15 at TP White & Sons Funeral Home, located at 2050 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45230. Visitation is 11 am - 1 pm and celebration of life at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRAhope.org) or to Mighty Men (mightymenofc.com), an organization that meant a great deal to Barb and her family as they supported her throughout her illness.
A special thanks goes out to St. Elizabeth's Cancer Center and hospice staff for their compassion and skilled care.
Barb's strength, humor, and kindness touched so many lives. She will be deeply missed.
