Billie Louise Bumgarner

Billie Louise Bumgarner, spouse of the late Rev. Warren J. Bumgarner, passed peacefully at Otterbein Lebanon Senior Life Community, Lebanon, Ohio at the age of 101 on Mothers Day, May 14, 2023. She is survived by a son, Roger and wife Terri Bumgarner of Dallas, TX and a daughter Elaine and husband Rev. Steve Gill of Lebanon, OH. A Service Celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 2:30 PM at Church of the Savior located 8005 Pfeiffer Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242.

Billie Louise (Hagan) Bumgarner was born October 5, 1921, in Turon, Kansas. She was the daughter of Theodore Hagan and Fannie (Jackson) Hagan who along with her three older siblings have preceded her in death. Her husband Rev. Warren J. Bumgarner, an elder in the United Methodist Church, passed in 1995. As a loving wife, Billie worked to put Warren through seminary in Chicago and then for over 50 years faithfully fulfilled many roles as a ministers wife and provided leadership to the United Methodist Women. Together they served at Waynesfield UMC, Aldersgate UMC in Toledo, First UMC Marysville, Anderson Hills UMC, Groesbeck UMC, and in retirement he served on staff at Church of the Savior. Warren and Billie also served and traveled the Dayton South District. For the remainder of her long life, she supported many mission projects and served at the Church of the Savior. She gave up driving when she turned 99.

Billies passion for traveling became a new focus as she became a tour host with Educational Opportunities which extended for 40 years. She shared her love of exploring the world and inspired and supported travel for her friends and family to many parts of the world, particularly to Israel.

Her son Roger and wife Terri raised two daughters, Leslie and Lindsey. Leslie is married to Trilby Beresford and resides in Los Angeles, CA. Lindsey is married to Perry Morris and resides in Dallas, TX. Billies daughter Elaine and husband Rev. Steve Gill raised three children Nathan, Naomi, and Natalie. Nathan Gill is married to Amy (Schuster) and resides in Milford, OH with their two daughters. Naomi Callahan is married to Jesse and resides in Liberty Township, OH with their daughter and son. Natalie Eagle is married to Jarrod and resides in Waynesville, OH with their two daughters. Billie also has many nieces and nephews along with a multitude of friends acquired throughout her life.
