Carl Dunn

Carl Monroe Dunn was born to Paul and Carrie (Anderson) Dunn in Louisville, Kentucky on July 25, 1925 and passed away on October 6, 2021. He attended Louisville's Western Junior High. Carl graduated from Marinello Beauty Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1952. He worked at Kaufman Straus in Louisville, Kentucky before relocating to Cincinnati, Ohio. He established Hair, lnc. in 1958. lt was originally located on Erie Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio. After many years on Erie Avenue, he and his partner Larry Ellis, moved the salon to Madison Road in Oakley in 1985. Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Paris were a few of the cities Carl traveled to attend advanced classes in hair design. They sold the hair salon on Madison Road in 2013 but Carl continued to work there until his retirement in the Fall of 2017. He was preceded in death by his longtime partner, Larry Wayne Ellis (2015). He is survived by one cousin, Donna Sadler, M.D. of Louisville, Kentucky and many loving and loyal friends. Special appreciation and thanks to Brandon Lipps for caring for and devotion to Carl the last few years.

Funeral service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave. (Mt. Washington), Cincinnati, Ohio on Wednesday, October 13th at 1 pm. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 to 1 pm. Burial will follow the service at Rest Haven Memorial Park, (Evendale), Cincinnati, Ohio.
