Carol Marchand

Carol Ann (Dorn) Marchand, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on November 16, 2024, at age 89. She was born on May 12, 1935, to Clyde and Matilda Dorn. She was one of eight children: Harold and Bertie (both deceased), Roger and Wanda (both deceased), Joan and Tim Barrett (deceased), Clyde (deceased) and Patricia, D. Gail and Kate (deceased), Elaine Herzog, and Neil and Stacy.

Carol is survived by her beloved Henry "Hank" Marchand, to whom she was married for over 62 years. Her devotion to Hank was unyielding. She wanted nothing more than to take care of Hank. They first met at the Welfare Department where they fell in love and started their incredible journey through life together. Carol started her teaching career after leaving the Welfare Department. She taught at St. Thomas More, Guardian Angels, and eventually retired from Cincinnati Public Schools.

Guardian Angels Parish and school were extremely important to Carol. She was a member of the parish for over 75 years. She was not only a parishioner but also taught at Guardian Angels for over 15 years. She was a faithful 7:30 am Mass attendee and took great comfort in saying the rosary. She was extremely proud to serve her parish and community.

Carol had a unique ability to make anyone feel comfortable whether it was out socially, through church or welcoming you to their home. She loved hosting events and get togethers. She would want to sit down with you and have you "catch her up" on everything that was happening in your life. She cherished her friends, family and neighbors. All held a very special place in her heart.

Carol is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews and countless friends. She cherished all the visits with each of them whether on the phone, in person or over video. She loved hearing the stories and adventures of all their lives. She lived vicariously through each of them.

She will be profoundly missed. Her strong will, dedication to service, unwavering determination, kindness, empathy, and love for her family and community is her legacy. She will forever be in our hearts.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Guardian Angels Church on Friday, November 22nd at 10:30 am where friends may visit from 9:30 am until time of Mass. If desired, memorials may be directed to Guardian Angels Parish (Guardian Angels Parish)
