Catherine "Kay" M. Thornton (nee Backherms), wife of the late Raymond L. Thornton, beloved mother of Mark (Debbie) Thornton, Sharon Thornton, Joe (Carol) Thornton, Greg (Nori) Thornton, Kathleen (Charles) Riley, and the late Patty Lambert, sister of the late Hubert and Marvin Backherms, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Backherms (nee Brockman), dear grandmother of John, Joe, Sarah, Tyler, Jarred, Melissa, Shawnda, Bobby, Andrew, David, Rachel, and Katrina, also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Died May 8, 2021 at age 93. Residence Withamsville. Service at Eastgate Community Church, 3235 Omni Dr., Eastgate, on Fri. May 14, at 11 AM. Friends may visit at the Church on Fri. from 10-11 AM.
