Charles Michael "Mike" "Buddy" Hedrick

Charles Michael Hedrick (known as "Mike" or "Buddy") of Newtown, OH, died September 8, 2021 at the age of 71. Mike was the beloved husband of 49 years to Cindy (nee Maddux); devoted father of Michelle (Mike) Cowperthwaite, Jennifer (Jeremy) Thomas and Chris (Becky Simpson) Hedrick; loving grandfather of Taylor, Chris, Emily, Matthew, Sarah, Kiley, Hannah, Ella and Jacob; and dear brother of Brenda McDonald and Linda Berry. Mike was born in Georgetown, OH on December 31, 1949 to Charles Pete and Betty Hedrick. He graduated from Georgetown High School in 1968 and joined the Navy the same year. His military service was very important to him and he wore his Vietnam veteran hat and Navy shirts with pride. Mike worked for Cincinnati Milacron for 35 years, retiring in 2012 after making many life-long friends. He was passionate about community involvement, especially with youth sports and spent many years as a leader and coach for Anderson Youth Football and Anderson Youth Softball. Mikes favorite pastime was riding motorcycles and over the years he owned several bikes and traveled to many places. He worked at Honda of Fairfield after retiring from The Mil and loved spending his days with the guys at the shop and customers who enjoyed motorcycles as much as he did. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, neighbor and coworker who will be deeply missed by so many. With burial to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 686 Mt. Moriah Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45245. A celebration of life will immediately follow at Moundview Park (3130 Newtown Rd., Newtown, OH 45244).
