He was married to the love of his life, Jody, for 45 years. Together they celebrated hundreds of birthdays, holidays, and graduations with their lovely family. They especially loved their time with the grandkids. They spent time traveling in their later years and they especially enjoyed their vacations to the West Coast. Darrell and Jody went on numerous antiquing adventures with Randy and Judy Hutchison. This foursome would be forever known as "Mutt and Jeff" and "Lucy and Ethel."
Darrell was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and riding ATV's. Many good memories were made at "the farm" in Crittenden, KY as well as "the cabin" in West Virginia.
He was a born teacher. Darrell shared his knowledge of the great outdoors with many. People were naturally drawn to him to learn from his expertise. Everyone who knew Darrell, can tell you something they learned from him, especially his grandchildren. Ensuring his legacy will continue for many generations into the future.
His love for family could not have been more evident than through his devotion to his 11 grandchildren. He was always attending sports activities, recitals, grandparent lunches, as well as having afternoon tea parties and taking trips to the zoo.
Darrell lived his life to the fullest. He will be remembered by many and loved by all.
