David "Cookie" Cook Sr. passed from this life on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the age of 74. Loving son of the late James Cook and late Anna Kiser. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Asbury) of 50 years. Father of David Jr (Leah), Robert "Bob" (Joann), Stacey (Shawn) Donaghy, and the late Robert and Shannon Cook. Grandfather of Danielle, Cody, Blake, Trent, Heidi, Josh, Braden, Mark, and Shawn McKenna. Great Grandfather to Tristen, Cash, River and Bentley. Beloved brother of James (Sharon), John (Bev), and the late Cheryl Remley. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
David retired from CSX Transportation after 34 years of employment. When he wasn't working, he loved to play golf every chance he could with his friends and family. His favorite days were the ones where he could be on a golf course with his sons.
In addition to his love of family, David was a 32° Mason, and also a member of the Scottish Rites and the Eagles.
A celebration of life will be held at Miami Township Civic Center in Milford, OH Friday, October 25th from 4-7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society in David's honor.
