Messerschmitt, David James died on February 10, 2015, at the age of 30 years, in Washington DC, quite suddenly and unexpectedly. David was born in Cincinnati, Ohio at 8:11am on April 24, 1984. He was the third child, and third son, of Marvin and Gayle Messerschmitt. While growing up, David excelled academically, graduating from Anderson High School with honors, while participating in the marching band and elevating to drum major. He went on to attend The University of Toledo for one year before transferring to The Ohio State University, majoring in history. There he met Kim, a Florida girl, who became the love of his life. Rowing for the Crew team at Ohio State was a passion for David and Kim, taking the two around the country competing. Several of David s dearest friends spent countless hours rowing at his side. In the summer of 2012, David and Kim were married in Cincinnati. David loved running, cooking, and traveling the world. He couldn t pass on Graeter s ice cream or a fresh baked brownie. After graduating from Ohio State with honors, David gained acceptance into the esteemed Boston University School of Law. He shined amongst his peers and was able to land prestigious internships, most notably a stint under U.S. District Judge Susan J. Dlott. David graduated law school with honors and moved into the corporate law world, working for Mayer Brown and DLA Piper, two respected, international law firms, where he focused on intellectual property law. David flourished in law and was remembered by his colleagues as a brilliant lawyer who was fantastic to work with and who had a very bright career ahead of him. David is preceded in death by his grandparents Charles & Mary Messerschmitt and Ralph & Gladys Childs. David is survived by his beautiful wife Kim Vuong, of Washington, DC; his loving parents Marvin & Gayle Messerschmitt, of Batavia, OH; his close brothers Patrick Messerschmitt (Jessica), of Hopewell Junction, NY & Adam Messerschmitt (Meredith), of New York, NY; his little nieces and nephews, who absolutely adored him (Marin, Grady, Ayla, & Hunter); his wonderful in-laws Le & Fat Vuong, of Orlando, FL; his brother in-laws Tom, Tuan, & Alvin; his sister in-laws Jenny, Cristina, & Amanda.
