David Spaeth

March 23, 1931 — March 12, 2024

David J. "Dave" Spaeth, a devoted son, sibling, husband, father, grandfather, and military veteran, passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 92.

Dave was born on March 23, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late George E and Lena (Samoniel). He was the youngest of seven siblings, all of whom predeceased him in death: Jean, Robert, Carl, Helen, James, and George. From a young age, Dave's unstoppable positive attitude, kind heart and bright smile touched the lives of many.

In 1960 Dave married Carol Houck and they were blessed with four children: Peggy (Dave) Meinhardt, George (Jodi) Spaeth, Jean (Chris), Carville, and the late Sarah Spaeth. After 46 years of marriage, Carol passed away in 2006. Dave later married Anne Ewers and for 16 years they created memories of their own.

Dave cherished his role as uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was adored by all: Nine grandchildren Tina, Danielle, AJ, Taylor, Hope, Grace, Adam, Luke, and Kelly, and two-great grandchildren Kaylee and Will, and too-many-to-count nieces and nephews. His love for them knew no bounds, and he took great joy in witnessing their growth and achievements. In addition to his immediate family, he also loved the time spent with Anne's children and grandchildren, welcoming them as his own.

When not on the golf course or playing ball himself, Dave was well known in the Anderson Township/Mt. Washington area for his involvement with Knothole Baseball. He spent many years coaching baseball and teaching the players the art of being a good sport both on and off the field.

In his later years, Dave spent much of his time and energy with the Knights of Columbus, a fraternal organization known for its charitable work and support of the community. As a member, Dave exemplified the values of faith, unity, and charity, making a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

Dave's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he find eternal peace and rest, knowing the profound impact he had on the lives of his family and friends.
