Dennis McCabe

Dennis Patrick McCabe, age 69, passed into eternal life on January 17, 2025 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is survived by his sister Mary, brothers Mike (Peggy), Dan (Lillian), Tim (Pam) and Kevin (Judy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death are his parents Charles and Mary McCabe, brothers Patrick and Terry McCabe, brother-in-law Kenny Lutterbach and nephew Sean McCabe.

Dennis was born on April 9, 1955 to the late Charles and Mary McCabe in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up in Anderson Township and graduated from Anderson Senior High School (1974). He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati (1979) with a B.A. degree in Marketing. Later, he was employed at the United States Postal Service for 28 years.

He was a gifted violinist and could play many instruments by ear and had fond memories of playing in the Anderson High School Orchestra. Additionally, Dennis was an avid student of American History and in particular the Civil War. For many years he participated as a Civil War reenactor. He credited himself with "many a Union victory" though some historians may disagree.

Dennis loved to travel and he was proud to be a mentor in the Big Brothers Program. Often, loved ones would receive cards from Den which included funny sayings and poems. In addition to his amusing wit, he possessed an astounding memory.

In keeping with Dennis's love of rhyme an Irish quote says,

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal;

Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
