Donald McAllister

Donald Aiken McAllister 98 years old died January 25, 2025

Donald was born April 5, 1926. In Hickory, PA, to David T. and Lillian (Skiles) McAllister, joining siblings Raymond, Willard, and Dorothy. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp following his graduation from Hickory Vocational High School in 1944, and served as an aircraft mechanic until 1946. Following his military service, Donald attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. While at Westminster, Donald met his future wife, Margaret Jane Jenkins. The couple was married June 18, 1950, at the bride's home in Kane, PA.

Donald began his work life as a salesman for the Fulton Company and later embarked on a thirty-four year career with the National Gypsum Company, retiring in 1990 from his position as Cincinnati District Sales Manager. Donald was a long-time member of the American Legion and a 60 year member of Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder and faithfully attended services there as long as he was able. Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Margaret, and his daughter, Wanda Tumblison (Robert). He is survived by sons Tom McAllister and Dan McAllister (Dawn), and grandchildren Matt McAllister (Kristin), Sarah Prak (Larry), Alan Tumblison (Rachel), Melissa Rosser (Brent), Andrew McAllister (Erica), Jeff McAllister, and eight great-grandchildren.

Donald is remembered for his faith, his dedication to his family, his sense of humor, his love of football, and his talent as an avid golfer. A private Memorial Service will be held at TP White & Sons Funeral Home. Interment to follow, at Graceland Memorial Gardens in Milford, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, OH.
