ZEMANEK, Donald H. was born on June 8, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska, married 68 years to his beloved wife Betty Ann Zemanek (nee Ferry), father of three children, James (Julie), Jeffrey Zemanek, Jane Ann (Steven) Maull, six wonderful grandchildren and one great grandson. He was a WWII vet who was a SSgt and ball turret gunner on a B24. He flew 35 missions for the 15th Air Force based in Foggia, Italy. He became a HS Teacher and a visiting teacher working with children with learning and behavioral problems. He earned 3 University degrees including a Doctorate in Education. He was a professor at UC for 25 years serving as Department Head and Assistant Dean. He was President of three CEC organizations and served on numerous Federal, State and local boards and committees. He was especially proud of his family. Services will be held at the Mt Washington Presbyterian Church, 6474 Beechmont Avenue, Mt. Washington, on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Cincinnati or the American Lung Association.
