Doris Mae Bergdoll (nee Kepler), 92, died at 7:37 Saturday morning, May 4th, under the loving care of the nurses at Hospice of Cincinnati. Doris, aka Kep, Dee Mae and later, Nanny Mae/Grandy, was born on October 10 th , 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank and Lauretta Kepler.
Doris was a graduate of Withrow High School and was a proud member of the Beta Omega Chi (BOX) sorority and the Withrow Marching Band. She was also an avid participant in several sports. It was at Withrow that she met her future husband, Ed Bergdoll. Doris and Ed married and eventually settled and raised a family in Anderson Township, where they lived for many years before moving to Palm City, Florida. Following Ed's passing in 2001, Doris spent several more years in Florida but eventually moved back to Cincinnati to be with her family.
Doris had a joyous personality. She was everyone's mom, spreading her warmth to everyone she met and lighting up every room. She loved laughter, people, parties, and travel. She spoke fondly of her trips with her daughters and friends to Myrtle Beach, and, later in life, enjoyed traveling to her son's home in Michigan for the annual family reunion; she loved spending time with her entire family.
Doris is survived by her son, Brian Bergdoll (Jackie), her daughters, Leslie Vogel (Jeff), and Julie Highley (Tom), seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
At her request, a private family service will be held.
Donations may be made in memory of Doris to the Sarcoma Foundation of America or Hospice of Cincinnati.
