She and Joe enjoyed square dancing together, and Dorothy helped with the 1992 National Convention in Cincinnati. She was along-timeHamilton County Parks volunteer at the desk and in the gift shop at Woodland Mound; one of her favorite events there was the New Year's Eve party for children, assisted annually by several of her own family members. She was keen on family reunions everywhere from the Atlantic shore to the west coast forests and in between, and was able to visit Germany and Ireland with her children. Dorothy was a Cub Scout den mother, volunteered in the school cafeterias at both Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) grade school and McNicholas High School, and prayed a weekly devotional hour at IHM.
