Monaco, Dr. Thomas G., 75, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017. Born in Oneonta, New York, Tom grew up in Queens, New York. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College, later studied at New York University, and received his doctorate from the University of Dayton. Tom led a purposeful life which brought him tremendous fulfillment. He served The McBurney School (NY), Kentucky Country Day School, and The Summit Country Day School as a teacher, coach, and administrator during his 43 year career. In retirement, Tom offered consultation to several Cincinnati non-profits including the Executive Services Corps, Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, Wordplay, and Linden Grove School. Family and faith powered Tom's work. His wife of 53 years, the former Marie Tosti, was a childhood sweetheart and lifetime source of inspiration. Tom and Marie were faithful servants together at Immaculate Heart of Mary, where Tom served as chair of the social justice ministry. In addition to Marie, Tom's life was enriched by his son David, daughter-in-law, Mollie, and their three sons, Thomas, Robert, and Samuel of Dallas, TX; and daughter, Diane Fee, son-in- law, Michael, and their children, Carter, Alexis, and Annie of Cincinnati. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; his mother, Arnelda; and his brother, Richard. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 3 from 5 - 8 pm at T. P. White Funeral Home (2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington). On Tuesday, April 4, a visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:30 pm at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (7820 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests gifts be made to The Marie and Tom Monaco Family Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation; the Dr. Tom Monaco Fund at The Summit Country Day School; or to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
