Edward Howard Hake, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 2nd, 2024. Edwards was a well-respected dentist in the Anderson Township Community, practicing over 60 years in the area. Following his graduation from The Ohio State University, he joined the Army and practiced dentistry in Germany for five years. After returning to Ohio, his dental offices were in Batavia, soon moving to Anderson township.
Ed's interests were many and diverse. He took up flying and reached the qualification of Commercial Pilot, eventually flying our single engine plane across the Rockies and to all the western National Parks with his pilot wife, Carol. At age 66, he took up horseback riding, joined the Camargo Hunt, and galloped first field on his testy horse, Paleface. Ed was a crack skeet shooter at the Milford Gun Club and a French cook in the kitchen. Tennis was always his game and played well into his 80's. He never met a sport he didn't like.
Ed's summers were gloriously spent in the Les Cheneaux Islands on Lake Huron, where he explored the islands hiking and boating. He was a long-time member of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club and the Sportsman's Club, shooting sporting clays.
He and his wife were subscribers of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for over 50 years and listened to classical music at venues throughout the city.
A visitation is scheduled at TP White Funeral Home on June 15, 2024 from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Camargo Hunt Hound Retirement Fund. A celebration of life will be held at the family's discretion.
