Gayla F. Woeber

August 29, 1949 — January 11, 2024

Gayla F. Woeber (nee Hale) wife of the late Richard H. Woeber Jr., beloved mother of Tina (John) Mangan & Richard "Rich" (Stephanie Smith) Woeber, loving grandmother to Jack, Joey, Danny, Carissa, Will, Jacob & Mia, great-grandmother of Aria & Abel, dear sister of Ray Coffey, Wanda Privett, the late Wilford Coffey & Larry Hale. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Passed away Jan. 11, 2024 at age 74.

After fighting cancer for 2 years Gayla passed away. Gayla was an inspiration for her family and friends as she demonstrated that no matter the obstacle, she was able to enjoy life and share her kindness. Gayla will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her joyful eyes and how she made everyone she met feel special. Gayla met the love of her life, Richard (Ricky) Woeber, at Withrow High School. They were married in 1967 and 2 years later had their first child, Tina, followed by Richie. She and Ricky embraced life, including boating on the river, travelling with their family, and always having their extended family, including lifelong friends at the Greater Cincinnati Deaf Club, as a big part of their social life.

Unfortunately, Ricky passed away too young, at the age of 47 in 1995. Although this was devastating to the family, Gayla was able to find joy again with the help of Tina, Richie, and all of her family and friends. She embraced her new role as Grandma. Eventually having 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. She loved each child in a unique way based on who they were as people and what they needed in their lives. Each one of them developed a special relationship based on trust, and unconditional love.

We will miss Gayla but are comforted knowing she is reunited with Ricky and all the people who Gayla touched that are no longer with us.
