Gene Edward "Skip" Markley

Gene Edward "Skip" Markley, Sr. passed away on January 22, 2022 at the age of 91. He was recently preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Judith "Judy" Markley (nee Hillgreen), who passed away on December 13, 2021. He was the devoted father of Gerald "Jerry" Markley, Robin (Fred) Neumeier, Gene "Skip" (Jeanne) Markley Jr., and Lisa Markley, and dear grandfather of Carolyn, Alex, Ben, Griffin, Ray, Chad, Cody, & Dylan. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren. Born in Canton, Ohio, and formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Gene was a member of the Masons. He was also an avid golfer, winning the Stark County Amateur Golf Tournament at the age of 16. Additionally, Gene was passionate about flying and was a private pilot for over 30 years. He was also the Vice President of St. Stephens Martyr Lutheran Church in Canton, Ohio. A private Celebration of Life is being planned. T.P. WHITE & SONS Funeral Home serving the family.
