Geraldine "Gerry" Burns

Geraldine "Gerry" Burns (nee Marcum), wife of the late Richard H. "Dick" Burns, beloved mother of Jeff (Meg) Burns, Curt (Cheryl) Burns, Doug Burns, Jenny (Jay) Weiglein, Kenny (Jenny) Burns, and the late Bob Burns, dear sister to Joan Keegan and Calvin Marcum, loving grandmother of Lucas, Amanda (Michael), Marie, Emma, Joss, Matthew, Delaney, Daisy, Mick, & Melanie, great grandmother of June. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Passed away Dec. 12, 2023, at age 83. Like many of her generation, Gerry transitioned from Anderson High School directly into marriage and soon motherhood. She and her husband, Dick, eventually became permanent fixtures in Anderson Twp. Building a home for their large, young family was something that Gerry was apt to do with intelligence, compassion and love. While always determined to provide the best in life for their family, Gerry and Dick found time to travel extensively and enjoyed a long life filled with many wonderful friends. Gerry's greatest joy seemed to be in the role of "Granny" as her many grandkids will attest. Service at T.P. WHITE & SONS Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington on Tues. Dec 19, at 10AM. Friends may visit the funeral home on Mon. Dec. 18, from 5-7PM. Memorials may go to JDRF or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
