Googins, Geraldine "Gerry" passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital on Sunday December 17, 2023.
Gerry was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved gardening and reading and devoted a significant amount of time serving her church in various leadership roles with The United Methodist Women's Group.
Spending time with cousins, grandchildren and extended family at annual family reunions was her greatest joy and she delighted in looking forward to the trips.
She is survived by her 4 children Richard Googins (Diane Schneider), Daniel Googins (Kim), Christine Scott (Bob) and Nancy Downs (Bruce). Grandchildren Rachel Shields, Ruthy Taylor and Christopher Downs. Also survived by great grandchildren Ashley Googins, Zak Karsolich, Juliet Shields, Parker Taylor and Pippa Taylor.
She was a shining light and inspiration sharing with all her devotion to God. She believed that in times of turmoil God will send us love notes to comfort us in knowing that we are never alone. "Sense God's loving presence permeating your entire being. Listen to God say to you: "I am here"."
