Gloria A. Miller

July 22, 1934 — November 30, 2021

Gloria Ann Miller (nee Lorenz) passed away on Nov. 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving children. The beloved wife of the late Joseph Miller, daughter of the late William John and Doris Kelley Lorenz; stepdaughter of Grace Carson Lorenz; beloved mother of Bil (Terry) Miller, Kelley (Charlie) Wilson, Lorrie (Scott) Hill and Katie (Rick) Mileham; and dear grandmother (Momo) of Sam, Emily, Liz, and Madeline Miller; Kate, Erin, and Beth Wilson; Scott and Gloria-Grace Hill; and Joe, Mari, Patrick and Jack Mileham. Gloria loved entertaining, decorating and cooking, but spent much of her life watching sports at Anderson High School and the University of Cincinnati with her husband of 59 years who loved any and all sports. A lifelong Cincinnatian, she truly loved all things Cincinnati and enjoyed working for the city's Visitors Bureau and volunteering her time at Legacies in Hyde Park. An only child, she valued friends as family and enjoyed spending time with them at Bible Study, Stock Club, and Garden Club - where she was known to make more friends than flower arrangements! An only child, she was doted on by her loving parents who were often at a loss as to how to handle her impish behavior. Hoping to reign in little Glo, they enrolled her in Sacred Heart Academy in Clifton. This decision enriched her life beyond all measure as her Catholic faith was solidified and lifelong friendships created. Following Sacred Heart, Gloria attended Maryville College in St. Louis for two years until her mother's poor health required that she return to Cincinnati. She recalled being dropped off at the University of Cincinnati by her father and being told to go register for class. Typical of Gloria, not only did she register for class, but she was soon a member of a sorority and dating the captain of the football team. Gloria was one of a kind and ahead of her time. She counseled her daughters to be financially independent and to value themselves as individuals. Her late-night chats were legendary and as were her religious debates. Never afraid to speak her mind, she was intelligent, funny, and kind. Gloria and Joe made family a priority and treated their children and their families to many wonderful vacations believing that happy memories were the best gifts. The Greenbrier Hotel will always hold a special place in our family's heart because of their generosity. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Church 2501 Riverside Dr., on Fri. Dec. 3, at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Margery P. Lee Episcopal Retirement Community 3550 Shaw Ave Cincinnati OH 45208. T P WHITE & SONS Funeral Home serving the family.
