Gregory Brunet, Sr.

May 7, 1933 — April 10, 2023

Gregory Leo Brunet, Sr, age 89 of Anderson Township, passed peacefully away on April 10, 2023. Greg was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ann Seghers Brunet, son Greg Jr. (Linda), granddaughter Virginia, parents Francis and Esther Brunet, Sr, and brother Francis, Jr. Greg is survived by his daughters Cathy Burk (Rob), and Jenny Bramlage. Greg leaves 10 grandchildren, Molly, Beth, Carolyn, Emily, Kim, Alissa, Patti, Jenna, Samantha and Gabriel. He leaves 9 great grandchildren, Owen, Jake, Oliver, Eleanor, Trey, Millie, Ronald, Gonzalo and Mateo. He leaves beloved sisters-in-law Shotsie Molitor, and Sr. Mary Seghers, OSB. Greg was an involved father, enthusiastic grandfather, and completely smitten great grandfather.

Greg grew up in Walnut Hills and Mt Washington, attending Guardian Angels, and Purcell Highschool. He maintained lifelong friendships with his Mt. Washington buddies and GA classmates. Greg served as a Navy (Marine) Corpsman, with his time spent on floats, in Japan, and at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington, DC.

Greg took over Frank Brunet & Co Screw Machine Products, a company founded by his father. Specializing in a niche market the company filled smaller batch needs for clients such as Penske Race Team, NuTone, and GE Aircraft.

Greg was an on-the-quiet adventurer, cat walking across the underspan of the Eden Park Dr bridge over Kemper Ln in elementary school, climbing Mt Fuji while serving in the navy, and scaling the Pine Mountain Ski Jump in Iron Mountain, Michigan during a summer vacation. The last may, or may not, have required climbing a tall padlocked fence, and encouraging 3 school age children to accompany him. It most definitely left Ann staying behind to pray the rosary, again. Greg also delighted in playing highly sophisticated pranks back and forth with Elmer Schmidt.

Greg's greatest joy in his later years was fostering new connections on his daily rounds from library staff, to grocery store sample personnel, as well as his home care providers. His thirst for friendship and human connection never faded. Greg spent his last 2 years being well cared for by the staff at SEM Haven. His connections there made all the difference to him on a day to day basis.

Jenny would like to especially thank daughter Samantha, and niece Beth for their devotion in supporting her, and papa/grandpa, these past years. Dear friends Linda and Helen adopted dad as one of their own over the years, and were constants in his life until the end. He found great joy in their company, and they in his.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on June 17th at Guardian Angels Cemetery. Memorials can be sent, in Greg's name, to SEM Haven Health Care Center, 225 Cleveland Ave., Milford, OH 45150.
