H. Gerald Hoxby

H. Gerald Hoxby, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away January 25, 2021 at the age of 93. He was born in London, England to the late Henry and Lola Hoxby. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Elizabeth, his daughter Alison Camba (Fernando), son Blair (Caroline) and grandchildren Gabriel and Isabel Camba, plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Derek and Camille Hoxby and nephew Kent Hoxby. Gerald was a graduate of St. Johns College in Annapolis, MD (The Great Books School) and received an Executive MBA degree from Xavier University. He served as a First Lieutenant with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, flying F-86 fighter jets. He was a Vice President at Dubois Chemicals and was Managing Director of their Australian operation for five years. In later years he joined his brother in land development in Northern Kentucky. He was an avid runner and Apple fan, serving as Treasurer of Applesiders for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Johns College, 60 College Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401 or St. Xavier High School, 600 W. North Bend Road, Cincinnati, OH 45224. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. John Fisher Church, 3227 Church Street, Newtown, OH at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Social distancing and masks will be required. Mass will also be live-streamed from sjfchurch.org
