Horace "Sonny" O. Whitaker, age 96, passed Dec. 4, 2023.
Beloved father of James (Beverly) Whitaker and Susan Whitaker, the late Gene (Janet) Whitaker and John "Jack" Whitaker. Husband of the two great loves of his life, the late Dorothy "Dot" Whitaker (nee Hunter) with whom he raised his four children, and the late Barbara Whitaker (nee Davis) who passed in 2018, also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Sonny was a WW II Navy veteran. He retired from Procter & Gamble and spent most of his life in the Western Hills area before moving to Florida and returning to Cincinnati. He was passionate about sports, co-founding the Covedale Athletic Association, and was a member of numerous organizations, the Syrian Shrine, Liar's Club, et al.
Sonny will be missed dearly by his family and many friends.
Service at T P WHITE & SONS Funeral Home 2050 Beechmont Ave. Mt. Washington on Tues. Dec. 12, at 11 AM. Friends may visit on Tues. from 10-11 AM.
