Jack Douglas Berner, aged 84, of Cincinnati Ohio passed away on March 26th 2024 surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois son of the late John H. and Mildred M (nee Wieringa) Berner.
Jack earned his Bachelor of Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology and his Master of Business Administration from Xavier University. Jack proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in England where he met and married the love of his life, Angela (Spinks). He spent his career and retired from AT&T which afforded him the opportunity to live in Chicago, New Jersey and finally settle in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jack then spent several years as the Director of Electrical Engineering with Teletech in Lexington, Kentucky.
Jack was a member of St Timothys Episcopal Church for 46 years. He served as an usher and made many lifelong friends at church.
Jack was a devoted husband, father and papa. Jack would always be thinking of others and was so kind to so many. He sacrificed and worked hard to provide for his family. He found joy in the simple things, examples being with family, walking his precious dog, Windy, and tending to his house and yard. Jack became a skilled artist, particularly with watercolors. Jack and his wife would spend time in England painting scenes of the beautiful countryside.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Denton; half brother John Berner and half sister Evelyn Sanders. Jack is survived by his wife, Angela Berner, his daughter Alycia Cassini and her husband Gabe and their children, Ava and Jacob.
The memorial service and interment will be held at St Timothys Episcopal Church on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 am. Light refreshments will be served at the parish following the service. St Timothys is located at 8101 Beechmont Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio 45255.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothys Episcopal Church in Cincinnati, Ohio or the Central Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimers Association.
