James Farmer

James E. "Gene" Farmer Sr. of Cincinnati, OH, beloved husband of Joan Farmer for 63 years, passed away Thursday, October 15th. He was 88 years old. Devoted father of 5 sons: Jim (Terri), Joe (Margie), John (Carolyn), Jeff (Holly), and Jay (Kristen). Grandfather to 17 grandchildren: Matt, Jessica, Alyssa, Emily, Bethany, Luke, Elizabeth, Zach, Sam, Laurel, Nick, Julie, Andy, Evelyn, Jake, Brooke, and Kenleigh. Gene is survived by his siblings: Shirley (Mike) Hildebrandt and Pamela Spear.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Viola Farmer and sisters, Ruby Roark and Delta Brown.

He was an active member in his church, Anderson Hills United Methodist Church, for many years. He was a Navy and Korean War veteran honorably serving his country aboard the U.S.S. Gatling. He spent most of his career as a bus driver for Greyhound and then 10 years as a school bus driver for Forest Hills School District before retirement.

Private services will be held on Wednesday, October 21st. The family suggests sending memorial contributions to Anderson Hills United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
