James "Jim" Lee Meyers left us too soon on October 14 at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Lynn (nee Johnson), daughter Tisa Laminack, son-in-law Scott, and dearest of grandsons, Hank and Wyatt Laminack. These boys gave Jim's life renewed purpose the last couple of decades, and it is his family that made his life complete. After attending Morehead University, Jim became the ultimate salesman. His animated stories brought joy to everyone who listened. He spent decades selling for and managing Priority Dispatch, a Cincinnati courier company. Using that as a springboard, the Meyers moved to Indianapolis in 1986 to start Now Courier, which became the largest courier service in the state, and later Now Records Services. Jim then moved into consulting with other delivery services across the country, helping others excel and mentoring many in the industry. In 2006, the Meyers were thrilled to return to the Cincinnati area and turned their energy into running and building United Courier. In between his workdays, Jim was often found on a golf course or at a race track. Although these hobbies took a back seat to his family, he took them seriously and found great enjoyment with both. He loved a good meal and supported many of the fine local restaurants whenever possible. He shared his love of golf with his grandsons and passed along many life lessons in the process. Jim was gregarious, fun-loving and had the world's best smile; he was normally the life of anyone's party, and just a joy to be around unless he was feeling ornery! It was family and friends who mattered most to Jim and he found a special way to love each one of us. It is said that a life well-lived is enough. Near the end, Jim knew that and was at peace with returning to his Lord. Jim's memory will stay alive forever, although he will be missed immensely. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim's life, well-lived, will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10 AM. at St. John Fisher Church, 3227 Church St., Newtown, OH 45244. Friends are invited to gather with the family, immediately after the service, in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Cincinnati.
