James (Jim) Wiley Ramsey beloved husband of Patricia "Trisha" Ramsey passed away very suddenly at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the age of 74.
He was a devoted son to the late Richard and Rose Ramsey, loving brother to Joyce Salt and the late Robert Ramsey. He was also a loving uncle to his niece, Cassie (Nate) Smith, grandniece Ellie Smith, and grandnephew Owen Woltman.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 4, 1950 he attended Oak Hills High School, graduating in 1969. He continued his education at United Electronics Institute in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated with an Associate Degree in Electronics Technology in 1971.
Jim began his career by repairing copiers and quickly raised thru the ranks to become a trainer and writer of technical manuals. He then moved on to Denro/Litton located in Gaithenburg, Maryland where he became a Technical Training Specialist. He installed and trained end users on Digital Voice Recording Systems (DVRS) for the FAA/DoD. He greatly enjoyed the challenges of both these jobs. For a change of pace and the ability to stay in the Cincinnati area so he could be near his mother after the passing of his father, he owned and operated a successful vending company.
Jim was passionate about shooting skeet, trap and sporting clays and was an avid and accurate reloader. He loved being outdoors whether riding his motorcycle, traveling in his RV, scuba diving, rock climbing, hiking or camping. Even when at home you would find him relaxing on his front porch.
Jim had a wonderful sense of humor which helped keep things in perspective during hard times. He was always there for his friends and never hesitated to stop and help those that were in trouble.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering in the spring.
