James Dolan Rudolph Sr., of Cincinnati, born February 8,1931, passed away peacefully
August 18, 2021 at the age of 90. Devoted husband of the late Shirley Parsons Rudolph
whom he shared 40 years of a wonderful life and marriage . Preceded in death by his parents,
James Walter Rudolph and Margaret Dolan Rudolph. Loving father of James D. Rudolph Jr.
and Susan L. Galbraith and wonderful father-in-law of Debbie Rudolph and Kevin Galbraith.
He was an extremely proud Grandfather of Amanda Rudolph, Shannon (Trent ) Langston,
Kelly (Chris) Lambert, and K.C. Galbraith. Cherished Great-Grandfather of Norton and Hudson Lambert.
He will be greatly missed by all his family, dear friends, and neighbors. He loved life and lived
for making people laugh. Jim had a larger than life personality who left a lasting impression on
everyone he came in contact with. The only thing he loved more than life was his love for his family.
Through his 90 years, he provided guidance, strength, and love. His message early on was kindness, good manners and proper grammar. That served us all well. He lived in the same house for 60 years, and raised his family there. He always had amazing neighbors and it was the best house ever with love and so many memories. He had a very successful career in Sales but also loved entertaining his friends.He was an enthusiastic golfer until age 85. During his late 70's and early 80's he shot his age on numerous occasions. His father passed the love of the game to him and Jim shared that love of golf with Jim Jr. at an early age. His friends and family will continue to tell his wonderful jokes and stories for years to come and will keep his spirit alive. Jim is now reunited with his late wife, Shirley, and we are confident they are dancing away to his favorite Sinatra song, "I Did It My Way". A private family Mass was held at St. Rose Church (due to Covid).
Jim was an usher at St. Rose Church for nearly 50 years. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in his honor can be made to Hear The Hope, Inc (www.hearthehope.org) a music-oriented experience for Cincinnati Children's Hospital patients. Donations can be made Online or mailed to 862 Quailwoods Rd., Loveland, OH 45140.
