James Monroe Taylor, III

James Monroe Taylor, III, age 85 of Union Twp., passed away on January 20, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Sue Taylor (nee Gumbert), his wife of 64 years, devoted father of Beth Clark Terbrueggen (Jan), Beverly Sue Koch (Greg), Brian James Taylor (Melinda), and Karen Lynn Osler (James), loving grandfather of 13 and caring great-grandfather of 23, and dear brother of Carl J. Taylor (Stephanie) and the late Dorothy Martin, Betty Wright, and Robert Taylor. Also survived by many other loving family members.

Jim was first and foremost, a family man of faith. His long life was marked by joy and a passion for life’s simple treasures: enjoying a meal with family, telling stories, camping, fishing, traveling, and watching football. He was always dutifully devoted to his wife and children. He loved his siblings and was especially proud of his only surviving brother, Carl, the family’s first college grad and a combat veteran of Vietnam, and he was continually amazed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was universally liked and respected in a multi-decade career in the US Postal Service. Lastly, his simple, unwavering faith in Jesus as Savior continues to be a legacy celebrated by his many descendants and their friends.

Funeral service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, on Saturday, January 25th at 1:30 p.m. where friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. A private family interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
