Janet Penker

November 17, 1939 — July 4, 2021

Janet Penker (nee Oberhaus), November 17, 1939 to July 4, 2021. With heaviest of hearts and all our love, Mrs. Janet Penker was summoned home to her heavenly Lord and his Kingdom on July 4, 2021. Janet was born Nov. 17, 1939 to her parents, William and Charlotte (nee Breazeale) Oberhaus in Eureka, Missouri. Janet was one of thirteen children, having lost her twin sister, Janice, early in life. Surrounded by the family she loved, Janet is survived by her beloved husband, John Penker Sr., who was the love of her life. Adored and cherished by her three daughters, Kimberly Simpson, Judith Patton and Wendy Patton. It was in the raising of her daughters that Janet found her joy. Faced with the upbringing of three young women, Janet met every challenge. Having found true love, marrying John, Janets family grew and she was given more family to love. Welcoming Johns children: John Penker Jr, Patricia Penker, Mike Penker and Steve Penker. Most special to Janet, were her thirteen grandchildren: Michael Reilly, Sarah Reilly, Robert Reilly, Christopher Simpson, Catherine Janet Harris, Maggie Harris, John Penker III, Karly Cavanaugh, Bradley Cavanaugh, Luke Penker, Nick Penker, Van Penker and Stella Penker. Even more so, Janet was blessed to have four great grandchildren to bring her all the treasured love she would ever need; William Simpson, Sophia Reilly, Elijah Reilly and Aubrey Penker. Janet is also survived by her dear sisters, Ann (Harold) Todd of Missouri and Ginny (Marion) Lovelace of North Carolina. All of Janets sisters and brothers were always in her thoughts and prayers. But most important was the continuous connection to her family, whom she loved dearly. Janet is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved, and shared many fond memories with her during her visits home to Missouri. In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded by ten of her sisters and brothers: Janice Oberhaus (twin), Dorothy Andrews, William Buck Oberhaus, Louis Mike Oberhaus, Charlotte Birmingham, Raymond Baldy Oberhaus, Betty Oberhaus, Richard Dick Oberhaus, Mayme Specht, and Forest Pete Oberhaus. It was family that was most precious to Janet and she was able to find a way to love each and every one. The life that is well lived is that which is filled with love and joy. It is the life that goes forward regardless of trials and tribulations that one faces. However, a life well lived, is one that is willing to share their blessings with each person that is encountered along the way. Janet Penker's life was one well lived, for she was able to share her love and happiness with all that were fortunate to have her in their lives. Janet was there for all, no matter the circumstance. She was the most generous in the ways she cared, and to have Janet/Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma/MawMaw in our lives only makes us better as we go on. Let it be Janets smile that we think of most and remember she loved each and every one of us with all her heart. Janet, till we greet each other again, collectively, we all say "We love you!". Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John Fisher Church, 3227 Church Street, Newtown, OH on Thur. July 15, at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit at the Church on Thur. from 9:30-10:30 AM.
