Jeanetta Mae Calico

December 15, 1928 — November 9, 2023

Jeanetta "Jan" Mae Calico (nee Haggard) of Clermont County, Ohio died November 9 th , 2023 at age 94.
She passed peacefully while surrounded by family at her home. She was the loving wife of Denny Calico who preceded her in death in 2017 after 66 years of marriage. Jan was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sadie Haggard and her siblings Kenneth Haggard, Lucille Wilder, E.W. Haggard, Billy Haggard and Trudy McKinney. She is survived by siblings Donna Ferguson, Roy Haggard, Jr. and Glenn (Bo) Haggard. She leaves a great number of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of Mike (Joanie) Calico, Shanna (Jim) Morarity, and Mark Calico ( Jenny Stephan and her son, Braydon, friends) loving grandmother of Jeff Calico (Mary Noggle, partner), Jackie (Jason) Burger, Jonathan (Laura) Morarity, and Michael (Nicole) Morarity and great-grandmother of Noah, Parker and Clara Calico; Kate Burger; Miles Morarity; Finnegan and Juniper Morarity. She was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jan was born and raised in Winchester, Kentucky and made homes in Dayton, Ohio and Chicago, IL before making Cincinnati home in 1953.

Jan was a charter member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church since 1970 and was a devoted Christian and a close follower of her Savior. She was a skilled and resourceful homemaker. She loved being in the company of family, and she was thrilled by her family and extended family's accomplishments.

In addition to homemaking, Jan worked outside the house for a number of employers over many years. During World War II she worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Other employers who prospered from her dedicated service were Fox Studio in Winchester, Morton Salt Co. in Chicago, Baldwin Piano Co. and McAlpin's Department Store in Cincinnati.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Washington Baptist Church, 2021 Sutton Ave. on Saturday, November 18 from 10:30 am to 12 pm. Funeral Services will be at the church 12:00 pm (noon). Memorials may be made to Mt. Washington Baptist Church or Queen City Hospice.
