Jeff (Jeffrey C. Leimbach) was his mother's favorite child. Or at least, that's what he always told his four siblings. In fact, he even told his mother that he was her favorite child, every time he saw her. Suddenly and sadly, we lost this favorite child on April 14, 2022. Jeff was born in Lima, Ohio on September 21, 1955, to Doris (Prowant) and Calvin Leimbach, who preceded him in death. He is survived by those other four siblings (all convinced they were the favorite of his mother), Bruce Leimbach (Jane), Nannette Taylor (Lou), Gary Leimbach (Pam, deceased), and Kim Leimbach (Patti). There are many nieces and nephews who will miss Jeffs masterful Donald Duck imitation and bad Dad jokes.
He was also a proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Joselyn (Josie) Leimbach (Lynae Sowinski), who learned her sense of humor and love of puns from Jeff. Josie and Lynae added joy and happiness to Jeffs life when they brought granddaughter Kallyn (Kallie) to the party. Granddaughters Kallie and Lily lit up his life! Kallie will soon turn 1 and Lily will soon turn 18. Jeff literally lit up EVERYTHING! Winter, summer, Christmas, ANY HOLIDAY, there were lights around the house, the yard, the car, his neck, or anywhere else needing additional cheer.
He also fostered and adopted four children, Sally, Timothy, Zachary, and Caitlin.
Lest you get the impression he was never serious, we should mention that he graduated from Elida High School as a member of the National Honor Society and immediately enlisted in the Navy in 1973, where he served honorably until 1977. He then attended and graduated from Ohio State University with a BS in Elementary Education. His decision to forego teaching led to a 25-year career as a Cincinnati Firefighter, where he perfected his ability to fall asleep in any place at any time. Not to mention his lifelong obsession with fireworks and cooking. His choices have always been a demonstration of his Servant Spirit.
Jeff retired in 2017 to spend time with the love of his life. Jeff and Linda were together for the past 16 years sharing adventures as they travelled, worked on shared projects, grew tulips, and sought out music and theater that inspired them. (Not to mention his love of baseball) Together, they laughed and loved while always pursuing adventures that included family and friends. Jeffs goal in life was to laugh and make others laugh regardless of the circumstances.
Jeff will be missed by many. Anger, sadness, depression, those were not words that described the way he lived his life. He found the silver lining in all situations and brought laughter and joy to everyone he met. Our hearts will heal remembering his love and laughter.

One life lived, Many lives touched......
I Love thee,
I Love but thee
with a love that shall not die.
Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars grow old.
