Joanne Bauer was born and raised in Cincinnati. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandmother in Winchester, IN..She would also tell you she was greatly influenced by her mother. She graduated high school from Saint Mary School in Hyde Park. Growing up, she loved music and her dream was to attend Julliard. She also enjoyed playing sports, especially golf with her father, tennis, swimming, and bowling, a hobby she carried through to adulthood.

Joanne was married to her husband Marty for 72 years, and they had six children who she raised as a stay-at-home mom. They had the opportunity to travel and visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and The Caribbean. Joanne's favorite places were the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Alaska.

Joanne had 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Tragically, Joanne and Marty were greatly challenged by the loss of two of their children, Maureen and Martin and their granddaughter, Amy. Through her personal tragedies, Joanne maintained her faith, great sense of humor along with her love and patience. She was the strength of the family.

In 1985 Marty & Joanne moved to Florida, quickly becoming involved in their community, especially the church community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. They were also part of their neighborhood watch and Meals on Wheels. Joanne considered her greatest accomplishment: her time spent as a volunteer at Sarasota Memorial Hospital performing hearing screenings on newborn babies. In fact, if she could have done another job for just one day, Joanne would have been a nurse.

In 2015, Marty & Joanne moved back to Cincinnati to be closer to family. They made The Barrington of Oakley their home and were treated with kindness and compassion.

Joanne and Marty were longtime members of St. Cecilia and Christ The King Parishes in Cincinnati and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Osprey, FL.
