John Danahy

Danahy, John F. Age 80, of Anderson Twp. died April 27, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Lindsay Kerr Danahy, devoted father of Robert (Laurie) Danahy, Elizabeth (George) Moeller, and Andrea (John A.) Kitzmiller, loving grandfather of Kyle & Rachel Danahy, Lindsay & Elise Moeller, and Max Kitzmiller. John graduated from St. Joseph High School and Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. He entered the Army Infantry Seventh Cavalry as a Second Lieutenant. His first tour was to South Korea's DMZ, returning to be stationed at Ft. Holabird's Intelligence Center in Baltimore where he was a Company Commander. John finished his four- year tour as a General's Aide and joined Procter & Gamble in Trenton, New Jersey. His 33 year career with P & G took him to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he and his family made their home. After retirement from P & G, John owned a consulting business for 18 years. He loved life, his family, his friends, and, of course, golf. He was a kind and giving person. In return he was cherished and respected by many. The family would like to invite friends to celebrate John's life and to share memories at Ivy Hills Country Club, 7711 Ivy Hills Blvd, on Wednesday, May 4, from 4 to 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 7770 Beechmont Ave., on Thursday, May 5 at 10:30 am. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to Inter Parish Ministry, 3509 Debolt Rd., Cincinnati, OH, 45244 or Cincinnati Works, 708 Walnut St., FL 2, Cincinnati, OH, 45202.
