John Mason

Mason, John L., Age 94 of Anderson Twp., died August 28, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Jean Mason (Bauman), devoted son of the late Walter and Ella Snodgrass Mason, loving father of Susan (Jerry) Taylor and David J. Mason, caring grandfather of Adam (Dora) and Eric Hurd, cherished great-grandfather of Lila, Sophia, and Samantha Hurd, dear brother of Peggy Sanders and the late Walter R. Mason. He is also survived by his caregiver of 17 years, Diana Rooks. John proudly served his country in the United State Army during WWII where he was a POW. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he served as President of the SAE Fraternity and after he was discharged from the Army he attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor degree. His professional career took him to the ranks of President of Anderson Publishing Company where he served on the board of directors for many years. A memorial service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, on Friday, Sept. 9 at 11 am. If desired, memorials may be directed to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. www.tpwhite.com
