Celebrating the Life of Joyce Servene Dickinson

Joyce Servene Dickinson, a spirited soul with a love for everything life has to offer. Born on November 11, 1932, in Springfield, Illinois, she left us on Christmas Day, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of optimism.

Married to her dear husband Louis Dickinson on June 13, 1953, they shared many cherished years until his passing in 1996 and together raised three sons.

Joyce is survived by her devoted sons, Lance Dickinson, who shares his life with his wife Linda Lee, Mark Dickinson, alongside his wife Sue and their son Chris, who is married to Krysten, and Steven Dickinson with his wife Carol. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces Aimee Green, Kim Murray, and Claudia T. Burnette, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Additionally, she will be missed by many dear friends and extended family members.

A dedicated professional, Joyce retired from her role as a Health Unit Coordinator at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she made a significant impact on all those she worked with. Her career was marked by her compassion and dedication.

Joyce had a zest for life that was evident in her varied interests. She loved to travel and explored incredible destinations across North and Central America, Europe, and Asia. A keen genealogist, skilled gardener, and lively socialite, she enriched the lives of those around her. Her decades of involvement with the Wagon Wheels Neighborhood Welcoming Group exemplify her love for community spirit and friendship.

Having experienced the loss of her mother at the tender age of 13, Joyce grew into a strong, independent woman, embodying resilience and optimism. Joyce's family and friends will deeply miss her radiant smile and energy.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on January 4, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm at The Heritage Center Arboretum, 890 Eight Mile Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45255. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joyce's memory to Wagon Wheels Endowment, C/O Charlotte Rouse, 5802 Beechnut Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45230.
