Kathy Cramer, 62, of Cincinnati, OH, died of cardiac arrest at Mercy West hospital following a battle with lung cancer. She departed this earth on May 7th, 2024.
She was born in Cincinnati, OH in 1962 to Leonard Simpson Casey and Patricia Rae (Pipes) Casey. She was an active child who loved to run, climb trees, and play with her siblings, especially her sister Mary. She attended Withrow High School.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Patricia, and siblings Leonard S. Casey Jr. (Toby), Carol J. Casey, Ronald Casey, Joyce A. Casey, Donna S. Caudill, and Bobby R. Casey. She is survived by Lauretta Tinnise Banks, her son David Lee Cramer Jr., and siblings Brenda K. Scott, Patricia Helterbran, Mary L Spaulding, Joshua Casey, Rachel Casey, Thomas Casey, Paula Brock, and many nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.
Kathy was an animal lover, through and through, but had a particular soft spot for cats. Stray cats didnt exist to her, they were just cats she hadnt found homes for yet. She would often take them in, see to their vet needs, and care for them until she found them a forever home. In winters, she would build shelters out of cardboard, hay, and blankets so that the yet-to-be-homed cats in the neighborhood would have a warm place to sleep. Those she didnt find homes for, shed often adopt herself. She was a quintessential cat lady.
She had a large fur-family, including her cats: Bear, Diamond, Jasmin, Dominick, Butters, Amelié, Lil.Bit, Foxy, Charlie, Buddy, and her two grand-puppies: Meriadoc (Merry) Brandybuck and Peregrin (Pippin) Took. She also loved and cared for several cats who have since crossed the Rainbow Bridge: LB, KC, Lil.Mama, Reece, and Sasha.
Kathy had a passion for fishing. Prior to her illness, she spent many late nights sitting at local lakes with Lauretta and her nephew Scott because thats when the catfish bite. When she became too ill to go to the lake, she traded catching fish for catching Pokémon. She spent countless hours playing Pokémon Go, driving around to Pokéstops, battling at local Gyms, and collecting Pokémon. Even in the hospital, she had to catch em all.
But above all else, Kathy loved to laugh. She was an incredibly witty and funny person and nothing made her happier than making others laugh. She didnt have the easiest life but she didnt let that stop her from finding joy or from bringing joy and laughter to those around her.
She was a loving and devoted mother, a loyal and caring sister, and a fiercely protective friend. She was a kind and generous soul who would go without to make sure that you had what you needed. She will be sorely missed.
Memorial services will take place on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 at TP White & Sons Funeral Home located at 2050 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45230. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:30am, followed by Service at 11:00am and burial at Baltimore Pike Cemetery.
