Kevin Scanlon

April 6, 1976 — May 20, 2024

Kevin James Scanlon, age 48, of Cincinnati, passed away May 20 th 2024. He was the beloved son of Linda M. Scanlon (nee Bankemper) and William J. Scanlon (deceased). Kevin was a caring brother to Mike (Leslie) Scanlon and Colleen (J.P.) Pfister as well as devoted uncle to Ruby and Felix Pfister.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Kevin graduated from Xavier University in 1998. After college he moved to Prescott, AZ which would ignite a passion for adventure that would continue through his life. Moving
back to Cincinnati, Kevin began his career as a broadcast engineer for WKRC where he worked for the past 25 years. Along side his career, Kevin was active in the community, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity for more than 15 years.

Kevin's interest in sports was evident early in life as a skilled athlete in school at all levels (elementary, high school, and college). That evolved into Kevin becoming a super fan for teams like Liverpool, the Reds, FC Cincinnati and of course, his beloved Bengals.

If you knew Kevin, you would know that he loved his adventures. These would come in many different forms: hiking and camping trips all over the country, journeys off the beaten bath in foreign countries, and he loved his music concerts and festivals. Next to family, his sense of adventure most defined his life.

As a son and brother (and middle child), Kevin brought an energy to the Scanlon family that was both needed and cherished. He had the kindest soul (his gift giving ability was legendary) with a low-key clever sense of humor and a dash of mischief thrown in for good measure. Later in life his role as son and brother became that of a trusted friend and confidant.

Kevin never married. And while he might not have had the joys that come with starting a family, it would be incredibly unfair to say that he didn't have those experiences in other ways. He was the dearest of
uncles to Ruby and Felix where his sense of whimsy would make them smile and laugh, always wanting more. And we will never ever forget Otis and Twiggy and the love Kevin gave to his dogs during his life.

Kevin was a sweet and gentle human - the impact he's had on his friends and family is immeasurable and there are no words to describe how much he'll be missed. We can only try to take solace in knowing hes at peace in heaven with his father.

A private family service will be held.
