Kristopher "Kris" Carrier

December 21, 1993 — November 20, 2018

Kristopher Kenneth Carrier, age 24, lost his battle to Leukemia on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He was born on December 21, 1993 in Kankakee, Illinois, to parents Kendall Allen Carrier and Christy Welch Sincavage.

He was raised and educated in Cincinnati, Ohio and Bradenton, Florida and graduated from Braden River High School in 2012. He attended State College of Florida, majoring in Music Education until his Leukemia diagnosis and was currently enrolled at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Biomedical Science.

Kris was a passionate musician and percussion teacher. He participated in the following organizations: Braden River High School’s Marching Band, Jazz Band and Concert Band, Manatee County Independent Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Tampa Bay Thunder Drum and Bugle Corps, State College of Florida Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo and Orchestra. Kris also excelled in WGI Indoor Percussion Groups including USF Brahma, Infinity Percussion, Ancient City Percussion Ensemble, and even performed in an international group, Gran Banda Drum and Bugle Corps from Medellin, Columbia.

Kris was also an active percussion instructor, teaching at Braden River High School, Booker High School, Sarasota High School, Riverview High School, Colerain High School and most recently, Lakota East High School.

Aside from music, Kris enjoyed spending time with his fiancée Maggie, watching The Office, fishing, video games, family time, and being active in the Dear Jack Foundation where he helped to support young adults battling cancer. Kris had an infectious smile, a positive attitude and was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Kris is survived by his fiancee’ Maggie Silveria, of East Walnut Hills, Ohio, parents Kendall Carrier of Parrish, Florida and Christy (Welch) Sincavage of Morrow, Ohio, Step Mother Kerrie Carrier of Parrish, Florida and Step Father Charles Sincavage of Morrow, Ohio, Sisters Angela McShane (Justin) of Covington, Kentucky, Holly Carrier (Aaron Conway) of Cincinnati, Ohio, two step sisters Carlee Sincavage of Los Angeles, California, and Leah Couchois of Parrish, Florida, two step brothers Casey Sincavage of Naperville, Illinois and Caleb Couchois of Parrish, Florida, two nieces Vera Barger and Adalin McShane of Covington, Kentucky and a Grandmother, Rosalind (Lewis) Welch from Vandalia, Missouri. He also leaves numerous uncles, aunts and cousins that were very dear to his heart. Kris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Kenneth and Dorothy Carrier, Maternal Grandfather, Clarence Welch, one uncle, Richard “Rick” Carrier and his brother Zachary Carrier.

A visitation gathering will occur at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. at River Hills Christian Church in Loveland, Ohio. A second Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Anna Maria Island, Florida. Details to follow.
