Lary Luzader

July 20, 1935 — January 16, 2025

Lary Dale Luzader, 89, was born to Pierce Farson and Marie Berry Luzader in Belpre, Ohio on July 20, 1935. His siblings were, older brother Gary Lee and two younger sisters, Patricea Joan and Jean Marie Luzader. Lary attended grade school and high school in Belpre, Ohio. He played football and ran track there. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958. He entered Ohio University in 1958, graduating on June 10, 1962. His chosen field was architecture. He was thrilled to be on the dean's list.

His career in design led to the design and building of steel companies. Among those were Arm Steel in Middletown, Inland Steel in Cleveland and Summit Building in M vaukee, Wisconsin as a sales representative. His love of the work brought expanded new territories with new contracts and high sale: making him the #1 salesman. At Summit building he was vice president of national sales traveling all states encouraging new venues and high sales. His theme song on Monday mornings was "On the Road Again". He retired in 2002 in Cincinnati.

Lary married Dorothy Ann Heatwole of Parkersburg, West Virginia on June 10, 1961. They had two sons, David Aaron and Stephen Matthew Luzader.

In early years he was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America. As an adult leader for 25 years Lary led scout trips to summer camps and National and International Scout Jamboree's. Both of his sons became Eagle Scouts.

In retirement Lary was involved in Gideons and loved doing campus distributions of the Bibles with the students.

A longtime church member, he worked with the men's group ARMM, attended Men's Bible Study and co-lead day trips for seniors at Anderson Hills Church.

Leisure travel was a priority with his wife and family, sailing the 7 seas and touching every continent. Trips to Disney World and the Disney Cruises, all recorded by his favorite hobby of photography.

A fall resulted in a brain bleed snuffing his life in 12 hours on Thursday January 16, 2025 devastating the family. Lary is survived by his wife of 63 years, his son David Luzader, daughter-in-law Catherine Finney Luzader and grandsons, Joshua, Samuel, Jonah, Michael and Benjamin, son the Rev. Stephen Luzader also his sister Jean Marie Gastonguay of Cleveland, Ohio.

A private burial for the family will be February 5, 2025 at Spring Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jon Ferguson of Anderson Hills Church presiding. There will be a military presence. T.P. White will be serving the family.

Services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 11 A.M. at Anderson Hills Church, 7515 Forest Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45255. The Rev. Dr. Jon Ferguson and Rev. Mark Putman will preside. A lunch will be served following the service by the Christian Women in Faith of the church to welcome family and friends.
