Lawrence Michael Hermes III passed away peacefully on September 28 th , 2020. He was
born in Houston, Texas on May 31 st , 1956 to Lawrence Hermes Jr and Kay Hermes. He is
survived by his wife Patricia Hermes and his daughter, Jessie in Cincinnati, Ohio, his siblings
Arthur, Maria, Amalie and Carolyn and their families in Texas. Lawrence spent his younger years
in Houston with his siblings and a multitude of friends. He attended the University of North
Texas State and then returned to Houston to pursue a career opportunity. His love for fine
dining and fine wines led him back to a career in Austin, TX in wine wholesale distribution. He
enjoyed many fine meals surrounded by family and friends in the Austin area. His career took
him back to Houston where he explored many difference experiences in the wine business. In
Houston he enjoyed rekindling with old friends and family. He loved taking numerous trips to
Galveston, Bolliver Peninsula and a variety of golf courses in the area.
His adventures led him to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he met his wife Patricia, who changed
his life in a multitude of ways. They married in 1993 and welcomed a baby girl, Jessie, in March
of 1994. Lawrence never met a stranger in his time in Cincinnati, he had friends at every
location he went to. He was well known amongst family and friends for his nicknames and
observations of the human species. Many know him as The Bub, Larry, the Heighnee. He
never failed to bring a smile to everyones face, and he always saw the good inside of anyone
he met. He was a kind soul, many describe him as not having a mean bone in his body. He was
unlike anyone else, his personality could fill a room. He will be loved and missed continuously
by all of those who knew him.
