Lisa P. Bowens age 68 passed Thursday February 22, 2024, at Anderson Mercy Hospital. She was the loving sister of Paula Bowens and Patrick Bowens. Aunt of Philip Bowens, Elizabeth Monahan and the late Dyana Bowens.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents Rose (nee Mischenko) and John Bowens.
Lisa began her exceptional life June 5, 1955, in Cincinnati Ohio where she was raised and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. This began her iconic 42-year nursing career of caring for the smallest and sickest babies in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit of Cincinnati Children's Hospital where she specifically worked weekend night shift.
Lisa was extremely devoted to the babies and families in her care and left a positive imprint during very difficult times on everyone she encountered as the most selfless, generous, and giving person.
She was a lover of animals, especially cats where she rescued and provided a loving home for many strays over the years.
Visitation will be held Thursday February 29, from 9:30-10:30 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church 6539 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45230 with a Mass of Christian Burial Following and internment at Guardian Angels Cemetery
