Loretta Malott

Loretta A. Malott (nee Linz), loving mother of Stephan and adored aunt of 8 nieces and nephews and dear friend of the Dawson family passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Malott, her parents John and Victoria Linz and aunts Kate and Lena Schiller and grandfather Stephan Schiller, who cared for Loretta when she was young.

Loretta was an incredible woman and mom. Stephan holds his mother in great respect and admiration as a mom who always chose to make him her top priority because she was always available to help him if he was troubled or upset.

Lorettas extended family will remember her kind, caring, fun loving personality and laughter. In her early adult years, she enjoyed vacationing with her sister and attending social events with her family and friends. After marrying Red she helped him with the bookkeeping at his SOHIO service station. The two of them enjoyed square dancing together and family vacations. She took great pleasure in hosting Thanksgiving dinner for her family and fondly remembered the gatherings.

In her later years, Loretta enjoyed time with her extended family the Dawsons by roller skating and visiting at Beechmont Rollerena, summer family picnic parties, and opening up their home after returning from late night hospital visits to pickup Steve.

Visitation will be held at Anderson Hills Church on Wednesday, January 17th from 5 to 7 PM. A service will be held at the Church on Thursday, January 18th at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Vine Street Cemetery.
